Headed out at 0530 and were met with calm seas. Saw some threadfin within sight of the river. Saw a decent tarpon come out of the water in the area. Castnetted some bait, saw some busting and dropped a threadfin. Fish on. 20 lb jack crevalle.
Headed further south. Had tuna busting around us. First hook up is a good one. After about 30 minutes put the gaff into a yellowfin about 70 lbs. Hooked up with another fish. Yellowfin about 30 lbs.
Slowed after that. Caught some blackfin on frenzy poppers. Had about a 30 lb yellowfin come up behind the popper and come out of the water and hit it. Everyone was watching the bait that I was throwing. Damn string tangled around tip and I couldn't reel.
Not a bad day. Spun a hub on the way in. Most fish caught on hardtail.
