with the age of the motor you should seriously consider parting it out and get what you can out of it to put into another motor (new or used)

my opinion is, I would NEVER buy a used motor because buying a used motor is just like playing the lottery, sure you might get a good one but lets be honest here, if the motor is good and still going to last a few more years then they wouldn't have bought another one to replace it. people buy new motors when the old one starts having problems. sure new motors break too but that's what warranty is for.

im also not a fan of those shops that rebuild broken motors and sell them at 60-75% of the cost of a new motor because its all about the guy doing the work and most of them are just looking to turn a profit and going to be doing the minimum to get it running reliably rather then make it like new again.
