If I can get away with using spinning gear I will 100% of the time. It's just more fun. Only really started using them the last 2 years. If you use them enough you WILL get good at them. I can flip, pitch, and skip docks with the best of em now. And if you use braid, or at least a braid mainline, you can get a good hook set on a long cast just like you could with heavier line, long rod, and a baitcast set up. Now I don't use them much in salt but I really really like the okumas. Their bait casts are horrible (got 2 this year, POOP) but the Trios is sweet. Got mine from tacklewarehouse.com, under 80 bucks and its a 6:2:1 ratio. Thats what im holding in my avi pic.
