Yah I am using a spinning reel with... 50lb braid. Was slinging 5 oz today plus a blue crab and maybe got 60 foot. I don't get much practice though.

you need some practice.. its easily doable, even with an open face reel. keep on keeping on and youll get it. just remember its all about centrifugal force so keep everything smooth! youll do just fine!
