If you through hull mount it (through the glass) you can use any epoxy and bury the ducer halfway into a big ole' blob of it. If the glass is solid with no delamination it's as clear as the transom mount.
I agree. In both of my bass boats this is the way they were mounted. Just will have a lot of fun trying to change one if if goes out.

Break it out of the epoxy, then grind it down to glass and remount. Been there done that.
