Jackson Hill Marina
First of all tent camping setup and takedown in the rain sucks. We had a good time fishing and caught a good mess of fish. Best catfish was a12 lb blue on bar S wieners and biggest bass was a 3 12 on a roadrunner. Had a big fire to hang out around at night and kick back. Two brothers from Houston, West Columbia and a nephew from Lake Jackson came up to join me. Somehow I don't remember packing so much stuff for a few days to camp out as a kid. I guess Dad did all that when I was a youngster. Redbug and plum apple was the color of worms we caught most of the bass on. We tried our luck for some white perch sat evening and my little brother caught a 3 lb 5 oz bass on a small minnow. No white perch this trip. Water temps were in the 64-68 deg range in the coves. Most of the good bass came from the creek side of the moss. 4'-8'... I guess the beard thing is the ticket for big fish. He said a 1 1/2 year growth on the beard.
