If they do that then opec can sell their oil to the E.U. for the same or more $$$ than they sell it to us for ,w/o shipping cost . So now we have in a round about way cut off a major portion of our own oil supply.

Russia won't cut oil to the EU. That's the only thing keeping their economy afloat at the moment. They would starve themselves out before we would even feel the effect.
