I agree with this. I know it is far from perfect but our right to be judged by a jury of our peers is one of the pillars of our constitution and an important right to all of us as U.S. citizens.
Honestly I would not mind serving on a jury at least one time in my life. Maybe not for a case where I have to decided if a man will go to jail for the rest of his life or not, but I am interested in seeing our judicial system in action.
And yes, it is our duty as an American citizen.
Past generations were called by our government to go overseas and go to war for out great country. Going sit in a courtroom for a couple of weeks doesnt seem thay bad when you look at it thay way.
