I went through one day on a high tide and idled for a ways just after the hard right turn. I kicked up mud for almost a mile before it got deep. so I would say you are not the only one that gets stuck. on plane would be a definite any time other than high tide.
I was talking to some guides a while back and they were talking about running through there. they said the main danger is alligators. He said he hit 4 going through one day. He also mentioned a buddy who damaged a lower unit.
That would also explain why those DWF boats are always at the repair shops around Lafayette getting fixed...
IMO its a risky run... Anyone else have experience with this route?
