Oilmans Finale
Saturday was the final day of the Houma Oilmans event. It started off calm but the wind was screaming 15-20 out of the east by 8:30 am. This kind of wind is what we are accustomed to for this annual fishing tournament. lol We had the same groups and Capts out on Saturday as we did the previous day. The rough seas made for a much tougher day than the 2 previous days. We still put some good numbers up catching 500 trout on Saturday and 20 nice redfish caught by Capt Travis and his E&E crew. Some of the boats did really good fishing live shrimp as Ryan Tolbert had 100 fish before the wind became a factor. Some of the others did well on live minnows and most of the other boats caught on plastic. Overall the 3 days of fishing was very good with 2088 trout and 32 reds brought to the cleaning table. We had 42 boats running with an average catch of 50 fish per boat. Can't wait to DU it again next year!! Big thanks to all the Capts mentioned in my previous post and to all our customers who continue to fish with us every year!! Speaking for all the Capts, we never take you for granted and appreciate your business!! Good luck fishing.
