Great Trout Bite!
A good time on the water Sunday as the trout were eating up big time. Just a beautiful day on the water! My wife Jean joined Dead-eye Chris and I for a great day on the DU! We fished from 11:00 am until 2:30 catching 62 nice trout along with a few reds and flounder. Got back in plenty of time to clean the boat and the fish before the Superbowl kickoff. LSU chubs did the job for us as the fish wanted them over the swim baits. Every day is different and one has to try different lures and colors until you find what they want. Our entire catch came off the reefs as the bluebird day had the fish eating up in the warmer water over the shells. Sure is nice to be able to sleep in, leave late and still catch a bunch of fish. Big thanks to Capts Josh and Brady for their help with Monroe Howell & crew and Kevin Gray and his crew. Its all good on the DU! Good luck fishing.
