My one bad experience came through the area known as "the goal post." It's off of the main canal and cuts left, if you are heading away from the launch. I knew it was shallow but, didn't mind because there was a pipeline up the way that I knew would be deeper...IT WASN'T! In the very center of the main canal was ok. Anywhere off to either side, we were in mud. Once we made it out of the mud, 2.5 hrs later, the lake was fine but, the wind was blowing so hard that we were getting wet and, nothing else.

Again, this is my experience and, I'm sure someone here can tell you more about the place than what I just did. Good luck!
