I'm sorry if you think I'm I'm being critical of their response. It's like this. There is no way in hell I would give my wife a .22 and believe that would save her life. If anything it would probably be the death of her. Picture this, a guy strung out gets shot by her .22 in a non-critical spot then, takes her gun as does her in. I couldn't live knowing I have my wife a gun ill equipped for the job.
Let her handle a .22, shoot, and work on fundamentals/marksmanship. Once she gets comfortable with it, take her to a range and shoot range guns and find something that she's comfortable with.
