Default Helping the Fish whisperer

Rick (Fish Whisperer) from Kentucky got on the Salty Cajun fishing site and asked for some help in this area. He had been here before but was not very familiar with the area. To make matters worse the water was extreemly low. This was the first time I docked my bay boat in Venice and part of it fit under the dock. I told Rick where to go in Venice to start off. I was going to launch in Empire and scout the area there. When I got to Delta Marina the water was so low I could not launch. My trailor would have gone off the end of the ramp before my boat would float. Knowing Joshuas would be just as bad I headed for Venice. After launching It was easy to find a blue Sea Hunt with Ky. reg.

I had them follow me and we set up along the edge of the river. One of the guys hooks up on his very first cast with a nice trout. They are picking away at a few fish but I decide to look further. I run down the river and duck into a cut. After getting a few trout I try calling them. No answer. I am up to 8 trout with nothing under 15 inches before I get hold of him and tell him to come down. By the time he shows up I have 14 trout. They settle in next to me and show me the luck they had. Nice redfish.

An good Flounder.

We are fishing side by side and there are 4 baited rods to my 1. I am smoking them 5-1. Once I get my limit I pull anchor and go over to them with the trolling motor to chat a little. The lines were not rigged properly so I suggested they change them. As I was leaving they were rerigging. They still had about 2 more hours to fish. I called Rick later in the evening and he told me he picked up about 30 trout before he left. The hook set improved greatly once they rerigged.

I did well getting my 25 trout with the smallest being just over 13 inches and the next smallest being 15 inches. My biggest was around 4 pounds. Got them all cleaned up and ready for tomorrow.

This is my portable cleaning station. Sit on cooler, take fish out of cooler on left, clean on table, carcas in large bucket and fillet in smaller bucket with ice and water.
