ok, well im back, didnt get many pics cuz we cleaned them at the dock, but we wore them out yesterday and today.
hopedale friday i caught a few small specks and sandies, nothing to keep so while the other guys were playing with "W" trout, i paddled to a place in the marsh and saw some action threw the redfish magic on the point and the ride was on.
7 minutes later i landed this beauty (1st pic). about 29 inches and i would guess 8-8.5 pounds.
Like i said we got home and went out and then decided to head to buras for a few hours.
the fight was on.
9 between 3 of us by 9, me and bottomOfTheBoot got 4 and our roomate got his first fish ever!!!!!!much less in a kayak!!!!!!!!!! (2nd pic)
got back at about 1 for the game and went to that
met medheavy at 4 and headed back to hopedale to potlick HH lol
we were met with a high tide starting to fall and it was on.
MedHeavy hooked a nice speck and on the retrieve about 4 feet from the boat a huge swirl. Then a monster red came and knocked the speck out. He swirled again and took him off the hook. at that moment i was in shock and medheavy told me to throw the top dog in and as soon as it hit the water it was on. great 2-3 minute fight with this beauty (3 and 4th pic)
he was 29 inches and about 9 pounds. we CPR'd him
we got our limit of 18-20 inch reds which is what i was looking for to take to georgia for tailgating. we caught 4 more that were about 23-25, and saw 3 different occasions where there was another red following the red on the hook. also caught about 10-15 throw back specks a few keepers and a nice flounder. got 4 bags of meat, some for the grill some for the oil. after we got our ten we hung around and picked up 4-5 more before rain ran us off.
it was a great, but tiring weekend. I love louisiana. and gladly i was able to shut up medheavy about him skunking me. hahahaha
great time, and the fish are starting to get super agressive. ive got a bruise from setting the hook.
