They transported my dad to Hattiesburg last night and did emergency bypass surgery at 2:00 am. He had a valve replacement done a couple years ago, but other than that, he's really had no heart-related problems. The doctors seem to think that, with no unforeseen complications, he should be good for another 87 years.
They don't seem too concerned that the heart attack did any permanent damage. He was in good spirits after recovery. He could be released as early as Tuesday or Wednesday.
