The 5.0 in a 4x4 SuperCrew with 3.73 rear axle will pull 9,300 lbs.
The Ecoboost in a 4x4 SuperCrew with 3.55 or 3.73 rear axle is rated at 9,700 lbs. If you add the Max Trailer Tow Package, the Ecoboost will pull 11,300 lbs.
I've put thousands of miles on both engines. I've pulled heavy loads with both engines. Personally, I would go with the Ecoboost. I don't think the Max Tow Package would be that important in your case. Obviously, both engines are rated similarly, but the Ecoboost has the extra torque that makes pulling heavy loads a breeze.
