It's possible. I worked on an old Shell platform that TDC bought and we had one well flowing at around 3 million cubic feet a day. The platform had 9 dead wells as we call them, that Shell had shut in due to sand and other downhole issues. Well, a company called CXY Energy bought the platform from TDC, came in and did some well work on the dead wells and ended up making around 36 million cubic feet of gas and around 200o bbls of oil. So yes it is possible.
