Dularge Trout Bite!
After canceling all boats on Tues & Wednesday, Capt Travis Lovell got it cranked up again Thursday evening with Ben Overesh and crew. They caught 100 trout after the storms with most of the catch coming in the boat on topwater lures. Friday morning I fished with Jeff Aycock,Ben Wright,Tim Wright and Danny Fitzgerald from Georgia. We whacked 55 trout at our first stop on the reefs catching 14-18in. fish. Made a few moves to finish up with 100 nice trout by 11:00am. LSU chubs and an assortment of swimbaits did the trick. Every fish was caught in Lake Mechant/Sister Lake on the reefs. We did not fish under any birds. The key to finding the fish was to find mullets and good clean water. Capt Travis finished up Day 2 with Ben & the crew catching a great box of trout & reds on topwater again. Just another great day of fishing the DU!. Good luck fishing.
