My great grandad saw one in what is now Tensas NWR. He found his hideout and while squatch was gone he put a bear trap out to catch him. Went back a day later and the trap was gone but there was some blood and hair left behind. This was before DNA could be analyzed, so he couldn't convince anyone. 90 year old member of the Coushatta tribe heard about it and traded my great grandpa some homemade mosquito repellent. He made a medicine with that hair and blood and he is rumored to still live to this day. This was 50 years ago which would put him at 140.
