I would say if you want fresh water fishing and nightlife Shreveport is probably your best bet. It has tons of nightlife and casinos. Plus Toledo Bend is 30 minutes away and caddo lake is right outside of town.
However I have to say once you go saltwater it is easy to get hooked.
