Default Duck marsh work

My son and I made a quick run down to our duck marsh south of vinton this am. Tide was really rippin in and the winds were mostly calm. Was wishin I was fishin big lake instead.

Anway, got to blind and all looked great. Cut about 40' x 40' area of roseau cane (with a string trimmer w/ a blade) from behind blind to enable us to see south. Last year we got buzzed so many times it was not funny.

Here's a surprise: Not one wasp nest was found in blind, boat blind nor in all that cutting.

My blind sits on the very south end of about a 300 acre lake. Last year's constant north winds really pushed a lot of silt my way. I'd bet that I got 3-5" of silt around my blind now. It will be interesting to see how shallow it gets with a 15mph N wind and low tide.

Did not spot any teal but saw a couple reds tailing near the banks. No fishing pole in my boat. Shrimp were jumping like crazy from my motor's prop wash.

Can't wait for 9-10 and then November! ! !
