Before I go into everything here are some shots of the road heading to Venice marina.
Yeah it made it fun driving to the launch the last few days.
Well starting prefishing and headed north towards lafitte in search of clean water and Wednesday I found it. It was holding nice fish and had sufficient bait to keep fish in the pins with no outlet. Thursday before looking at other areas I decided to go back and stick one to get a size check. Well the fish and bait were gone and muddy water pushed in. Back to drawing board. Ran even further west and once again found nice water but lacked the fish weight necessary to compete. Mean while Skip Floyd my partner for this tournament was looking at water further away. He ended up finding some studs and wanted to look at them one more time before deciding to go out that way. I looked closest Venice and found some nice 8lbers but it was inconsistent and the sher numbers was not there.
Friday after the capt meeting it was decided that we would buddy boat with the LSS winners Blake Champion and head west to (and get this) Cocodrie! We planned and the run was do able. We swung for the fences and here's the end result.

Got all the way back to Venice after only just three hours of fishing, two fish in the well only to have out second fish dq'd for being oversized by a 1/16th. We bumped the fish one the board on the boat and measured fine all day. Only thing we think is it relaxed on the way home. Oh well we swung and hit warning track and didn't quit make it.
