Actually the ride in the nasty stuff is darn good with the seating from PPI. The Mitigator cushions work really well to minimize the bumps. I had no idea that the Mitigator product existed. See:

That said, I recently ran it during small craft advisories on Lake Borgne that were not fun. Boat did fine. Airborne over every 3rd wave (had to keep it below 26 mph) quartering in very big mixed stuff. Reels under deck had fallen off of some of our fishing rods - it was crazy. We really needed our 27ft cat that day. Borgne was a beast. Anyhow, the same winds in the MRGO blowing 25+ ... just let 'er rip.
If it gets bad, I just slow down and if needed run the boat standing like any other 'bay boat'. It has a good V-pad bottom that does well - the boat runs a hair flatter than typical bay boats, letting the V work as needed.
Last three weeks I have fished Lafitte, Empire and Rigolets areas and routinely ran 130 miles a day covering duck ponds to open water. I plan to take it to Grand Isle this summer and also hit some of the Fourchon rigs for Mangroves.
Hope this helps.
BTW, How long you been in LA? In case you missed it >> See:
It still makes me laugh.
