Just make sure you have enough structure/variation in the topography in the pond. Doing so will allow the bait fish to move around and feel more protected. Just make sure once everything is stocked that you manage the pond. Yea, you could supplementally feed the fish with a timed release when the pond's population reaches its carrying capacity, but why would you? Fishes are tasty. I know you know that! It is very important to keep the predator/prey ratio somewhat balanced. Otherwise you will experience a population crash. If all the bait is gone, all the fish will be gone as well.
