Here are a few pictures of how I install a lighting system on my 12' Godevil boat.

I installed all wiring in plastic "conduit" to prevent the wires from being cut on sharp metal edges. Note the on/off switch in the picture that showes the wires that connect to the batter [batteries not included].

The Bow light is mounted on a custom built block of wood just behind the front of the boat ....to prevent it from breaking when I hit something. I use rubber grommets to protect the wires..... see bow picture. Note where I store the Stern light in the back of the boat.

Fuse.....you must install a fuse [~ 5 to 20 amp is good] on the hot [plus] wire. If you don't have a fuse....when [not if] the wires shorts it will burn up all the rubber insulation on the wiring.

Recommend you use a fairly heavy wire, say # 12 gauge multi strand not a single strand......A small wire will work ok.....but a larger wire will not get broken and last a long time.
