I have a Nikon D5000 shoots good and pretty simple to use, until you get into all the settings and what not, but i normally just turn it on and go. Takes damn good pictures and the plus side to this SLR is you can take a picture through live view, on the screen, instead of having to look through the little hole to take a pic.
But some people have different preferences, this is just my experience with Nikon.
