Goodman and Amana has 10 year compressor and 10 year parts warranty. They both have Copeland compressors in them now, not the Bristols. They are alot better units than a few years ago. of course their price went up too, but still a good buy. Any thing over 15 SEER, you can't make your money back on them unless they last a REALLY LONG time. That ain't gonna happen anymore. The time where A/C units last 15-20 years are long gone. I just changed out a 3.5 ton inside and outside Goodman system, 14 SEER for a guy in Lake Charles for $3500.00. His inside unit was in a huge closet, very easy change out. Price will depend on how much work is involved in the change out. Pretty much all units out there do the same thing. It just depends on what you want. I have yet walk into a place, feel the cool air in a building and be able to tell you what kind of system is on the building, without looking at the equipment. What you want to look for is a reputable company that will service your equipment after the sale. ALL equipment has the possiblities to break down, no matter what name is on them, and they do! If you have any questions, give me a holler!
