yep medical oxygen has to have a purity of around 99.6% pure O2, which is the normally the same as "industrial grade" or welding grade.
Now you have to have a prescription for medical oxygen...its just like getting a prescription of antibiotics etc...
I sell med o2 and we are regulated by the state and the fda. Lots of paperwork and bs but it protects the patient.
He could could have a small cylinder filled with industrial O2. Just need proof of ownership of the bottle to get it filled.
