He had cut his throat and jumped into the water. We told them that we had a man overboard extraction unit on our boat. They and the Coast Guard asked us if we could assist, so we did. When we got there the guy was floating, unconcious with a life ring around him. So we got him out of the water and layed him on the back deck. I covered him with a blanket, treated him for shock and wrapped a sheet around his neck to try and stop the bleeding. Buck headed for Cameron. About five miles from Cameron the helicopter arrived and sent a rescue swimmer and the basket to get the guy. They took him to Beaumont and last we heard, he is doing ok in icu. One hell of a morning.
