i have never had any problems with mine.........word of advice if you are not putting it in the airconditioning. don't buy it to save money mine made my electric bill go up about 50 to 75 bucks....... I use mine alot though we fill up water coolers every morning in mine. they are more for convience than to save money.
Now what to look for try to get one that is not water cooled ( not sure if it is the name) but it waste alot of water. it runs the water o=ver the coils and freezs it insted of filling up trays.......also your bin is the main thing make sure it is well insulated this will make your ice stay longer.
the easiest way to find a used one is to get an ac guy to find you one. they replace alot of them with new ones. then rebuild them and sell them. this is how i found mine
