THis does not pertain to Outboards.

Yes, an approved whistle is acceptable. Not a football whistle. You can get them cheap at Academy, Walmart, Kmart, Ship to Shore, West Marine... ect.
Well then.....I need to get a flare or strobe light. Would a "blinking or flashing" light meet the requirement?

Whistle.....I never looked to see if a new whistle says that it is Coast Guard approved.

I am still confused about the whistle for a 15 foot boat.......LDWF web site does not say that I would need one. Guess I will have to look for something on the US Coast Guard web site.
