No better way to test products than on the water. I too thought that the diawa was comparable to the curado until I cast them side by side. Now I know better. Fishing the rigs out of v-bay or pitching a bait to bass or redfish in the marsh don't always require long casts but if you're fishing for skiddish trout in big lake---see big lake posts---the longer you can cast, the more fish you are going to catch. Also, the coastal sells for $130 and the curado for $170. Not a whole lot of difference there especially for someone who can afford to fish 4 times a week.
