can you fish here??

Raymond 04-23-2010 09:11 AM

Yes, but you have to leave each morning from weigh site in Urange Tx.
Release from weigh site is determined by your registration #. To promote catch and release they are giving .2 # for each fish weighed live.

I want to throw something out there which I'm sure others will have strong opinions about. I fished Sam Rayburn throughout it's hay day and then I watched every tournament group from can to can't bombard the lake every weekend until some weekends there would be 5 or 6 tournaments going on until it hurt the fishery. Now I don't think a tournament here and there hurts anything, I'm just wondering what others think. I for 1 think bass can become educated to certain lures & tactics as well as abnormal boat traffic. Maybe I'm wrong. Some of you with more salt experience chime in.........

Im not to sure about being trained on lures, but I dont think your going to be catching fish when boats are wizzing by.

I agree 100%. Boat traffice kills the bite.....they get lockjaw. I too think they get used to lures. Corkies for example, while still a great bait, to me seemed much more effective when they first hit the sceene. I also think too many tourneys is a bad thing....esp since tourneys target the larger size of the breeding stock.
