But 3x the weight...these suckers are heavy !

I got a couple that Theophile Bourgeois gave me, but I haven't thrown them yet. I think they would be great for redfish on the South Pass jetties at Venice.

Jordan 04-17-2010 04:50 PM

or ripping them through birds !!!

This is a pogy lure:

BayBolt23 04-18-2010 12:07 AM

Damn thats a big bait. Do you just throw it out and reel it in like a crankbait?

Ray 04-18-2010 12:11 AM

Yep, balsa lure. Floater. Twitch on cold days.
That's how I rolled in my younger days.
I found it in my attic in an old tackle box.
The other one was chewed up, this one was
never used. Someone wanted the chewed up
one to add to their antique lure collection.

This was my other winter lure.
Poe's was a big lure company back then.
Don't know what happened to them, they
kinda died out in the 80's.

BMTAngler 04-18-2010 12:19 AM

The Bomber's are a topwater bait, their pretty heavy but they have good action. I havent thrown them in a while though

Ray 04-18-2010 12:22 AM

Bomber makes a real nice opening night soft plastic lure.
Their soft plastics look nice, but they are way too high
compared to the rest of the soft plastics.

The super pogie's a diving bait. Caught a nice red near east bank on one. Lost it on a reef and went and got another. Looks lik it would be good by the jetties. It's a loud rattler.

LPfishnTIM 04-18-2010 09:10 PM

I like the Bomber topwater chug, its a good bait for bass and reds!
