garmin problems

i have a gps/fishfinder. i didn't get to play with it very much the other day but while moving the sounder quit working it would just blink. does anyone else have one of these and how do i fix it so i can see dept while on step

i have the same problem with mine. While running the depth says the last depth it was whenever i was not moving. Does'nt pick up depth on the move.

Mine does the same thing.

Mine did that...adjust your transponder on the boat it probably got bumped when you were putting it on the trailer. I just pushed it down one notch then tightened it up real good. Works fine now

adamsfence 03-23-2010 12:08 PM

maybe I need to adjust the angle because when we went the other day it had never been tailored since I put it on

its hard to get a good reading with a transom mounted transducer while on step. when you get on step you get more air bubbles coming through and it will throw off the reading. best thing to do if your boat is glass is to bond the transducer inside the hull.

i got another problem too i think my transducer is causing my boat to lean when im on plane. that is the only thing i can figure. i didn't start till then......anyone else ever had this problem

garmin transducer ain't too little

huntin fool 03-31-2010 07:07 PM

i know, i have one. BUt seriously, i don't think that would mess it up.

adamsfence 03-31-2010 07:14 PM

if it ain't that then i don't know why it would all of a sudden start that unless my jackplate got out of wack

Dink 03-31-2010 07:38 PM

You may be taking on water where you drilled the holes.........I agree with transducer needing to be moved to read underway.......Adam, your aluminum? The comment about the bubbles is also correct, but specktator, your whaler shouldn't make lots of bubbles.
Is the transducer to close to the motor? That'll screw it up too......good luck

adamsfence 03-31-2010 07:40 PM

no water I have a glass boat too

meaux fishing 03-31-2010 09:55 PM

you ever get your prop checked?

adamsfence 03-31-2010 09:57 PM

no I forgot about it after being gone to chicago.......that may have something to do with it
