soft plastic jerkbaits

hey guys, ive been fishin soft jerkbaits for years.the only problem i have is the flotation.the higher in the water column ya want it, the faster ya wanna work the bait.well, winter time is sloww fishin, any ideas or pointers ta help em float? ive wittled down pieces of cork and installed em in the belly slit, but they do roll over sometimes

use a bass hook and no weight, no brakes or tension knob, cast downwind

i use the worm hooks and also mustad makes an awsum offset jerkbait hook.i use the strike king xxx baits cus they float.but, ive found several others that are more realistic lookin, but, they just dont float or "hang" on the pause. thanks for the info!!:D

i have heard of people injecting baits with insulation foam and seems to work well -

I can't imagine needing a slower sink rate than a fluke with a plain hook, i just don't have that much patience

are you using braided lines too?? they help make them float too

your welcome! Your flukes should now sink verryyyy slowly especially if your using strike kings 3x ones. Those suckers float on the top. I don't even use theirs unless i'm using a weighted hook to sink them.

Anyways did you ever try the mega super flukes that are about 10 inches long? They are the KING. But the fish rip them apart very quickly. 2 fish and they're done.
