Never really done any fresh water but man I love me some salt water. I know that you can go out with one pack of sand eels and a few jig heads and come back with a limit of reds, specs, and flounder.

huntin fool 06-03-2009 01:01 PM

im curious as to see what some of yall write on this.

killa k 06-03-2009 01:10 PM

fool, it really depends on what you are fishing for and where you are fishing...if we are talking bass v. specks in SWLA. Specks are easier because of our fantastic fisheries...now if we were in say S. Central FLA it would be the reverse.

I like both.... Im not much into fishing saltwater but I do like it. I was raised in fresh/brackish water so thats where my home is. My true passion is catfishing and hunting ducks. Next is bass fishing. I love the sport of bassfishing.

Its a matter of opinion.

None is better than the other. I say fishing is fishing.. Period. As long as I got a pole in the water... Im happy.

You got that right. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work any day.

huntin fool 06-03-2009 01:45 PM

like yall said- fishing is fishing, wether its salt or fresh, all that matters is you having fun.

flounder_smacker 06-03-2009 03:33 PM

when you say salt do you mean inshore or offshore? i like offshore the best. i like coming home dead tired with great eating fish. plus you never know what you gunna catch.

Fool, I'm with you. i like both but Bass fishing requires more knowledge and skill, IMO. Haven't seen many birds working at Toledo Bend!!

For ease of fishing anyone can go down to big lake...."potlick" and catch a mess of reds, specks, and flounder. Not much skill involved at all. Actually make two or three trips a year down there to fill the freezer. Your welcome to come potlick me all day at Toledo or any river in the area and I guarantee your not gonna come home with a limit of bass and sac's. It takes more skill and patience on freshwater arenas. You have so many variables involved in freshwater fishing that does not effect saltwater fisheries. I myself love to go saltwater fishing with a group of people and a case of beer the action is fast and fun. When it comes to wanting a challenge its freshwater all the way.

everyone always says that fresh water takes more skill but i can put a rod in my girlfriends hand with a white spinner and tell her throw around logs and she'll catch bass. you can fish structure in fresh water and catch fish. when a newbie goes out to salt water fish and sees nothing but water they dont know what to do. i think it takes just as much skill to find big saltwater species as it does to take big freshwater fish.

Xpressboat908 06-03-2009 07:40 PM

Saltwater for trout and reds!

Austin(boatman's son) 06-03-2009 09:41 PM

bass fishing is def harder
