First time out

Took the Yak out today for the frst time.
Found some ducks out in the marsh and tried to see how close I could get to them.
Shot some skeet and drank some brews after.........had a good time today, just thought i would share.

Sweet, looks like a great day for sure! After hunting season a bunch of buddies and I usually go to my property and shoot skeet, bbq and drink a few almost every weekend.

Love it!
I was able to paddle within about 70 yards of those ducks. If the water gets high enough we sometimes have reds and specs in the marsh. After Ike we caught a good number of reds and specs for about three weeks....caught them all right where we were shooting the skeet, its about three feet of water right there and the rset of the marsh is only about a foot deep so they would just stack up in that running water. |

Nice report man. The site's not all about bragging and catching and killing. Its about telling how good of a time you had in the outdoors

Yeah, we do the same thing....the only reason we did it this early is cause the only ducks in our marsh right now are scaup and they only show up around noon of everyday. The spot we are shooting is where we do almost all of our crawfish and crab boils. The good thing is on the other side of the road that we shooting on is a canal that leads straight to the intercoastal and there is three colverts that flow under the road into the pond and it keeps craps there when the weather warms. So we just catch all our crabs right there and put them straight in the boiler......not a bad deal at all. I spend most of my time out there during the warm months.....we have trails to ride 4-wheelers that lead to the intercoastal where we swim and camp on the ridges. |
