6-24 Easy and Fun Big Lake Fishing

Had 9 trout the first 15 minutes on the water. Had my limit in box before 8 and then got on some really nice fish steady up til 930 all on plastic. After 45 minutes of one bite and trying to decide if I was gonna go find 3 more reds to finish that limit off I made a short run back up to the school of trout hoping a few reds were still mixed in. Shad were everywhere so made one throw with cast net and got 60 shad in live well. Very first cast with one landed 18" trout about 4 feet under Poppin cork. Fish were a little more scattered but I caught 18"-20" trout steadily till noon easily catching 2 more limits. All bigger than any I had in box. But how's a fellow not to box the first 9 fish of the day! Those were just about the only 12"-13" fish of the day cause they just seemed to get bigger as the morning went on. At noon my trolling batteries were completely dead and rain just hit so called it a day. Could of been home for 9 am but it was too fun site fishing in the calm lake. Excellent day on big lake without buying live bait and maybe burning 2 gallons of gas.
