3 or 4 years ago, absolutely hands down best poboy around! But now days there is like 4 places you can get an equivalent sandwhich in LC, 3 of which have the same bread vendor as Darrels. Darrels has fallen off. I cant tell you last time I ate there and the cheese was actually melted because of a "hot" sandwhich.

LCD

Where are some other places in LC for Good Po-boys?

Gerald 05-09-2016 02:25 PM

Web site now says results in 3 days.

I wonder why it takes so long to show who won?

In my opinion it's just as good today as it was when i first tried one about 12 years ago.

I hadn't been to Darrels in a few years and went about a month ago. It was just as good as I remembered. Darrels special add shrimp, out of this world!

I went to Putters last night because this thread made me hungry for a po-boy. I get ham and cheese and normally Putters has always been "very similar". Last night my sandwich was exactly the same as a darrells ham and cheese. And with only a few people in there I was in and out before I could finish 2 beers.

Exactly!

There are a lot of Darrel's knock offs around town. Most of them are pretty good but none are better or cheaper than Darrel's. So when I get a craving, I might as well just get a Darrel's.

Yea boy! Louisiana Po Boy on Johnson St. is pretty freaking good too. One of the best roast beef poboy's I've ever eaten. And the Cajun Twist is legit.
