Boat insurance

What up fellas. Who do you deal with as far as marine ins in the lafayette area for your boat? The office I deal with is in Lake Charles. Just wanted to compare prices before I take a trip to lake charles just to pay my renewal.

Allstate

Allstate in Laf is great. Call Donna. She was wonderful to work with as opposed to State Farm.

I have Charter lakes thru Lyons Ins in LC. Shopped around and they provide better insurance for the same or lower price than anyone else. We have auto ins thru Geico and they couldnt beat the price

I went thru USAA and I believe they use Progressive for boats.

Speck Attack 04-21-2016 02:23 PM

statefarm.....cover everything I have...

Visco 04-21-2016 03:41 PM

I use BoatUS... it comes with towing both on the water and on the road (Trailer assist). They also have the vanishing deductible not to mention my policy is almost 50% the price as USAA was when I was with them.

Good Luck

I used Charter as well. They always took good care of me.

Do any of them cover homemade boats? I wouldn't mind getting insurance on my surface drive rig.

If you have to go into the office to pay then they are charging you a fee on top of the commission they get from the company. Any local independent agent can sell boat insurance. I'm one of them. All of my clients can pay online or by check in the mail. Just make sure you make your check out to the company insuring not the agency.
