Trout with eggs?

Crummy weather on my days off and not much to show for it but isn't it a little late to be catching specks with eggs? Caught plenty of lady fish though.

Whats the deal with all the lady fish? I have been running into them like crazy. Suckers are hard to hook but that's a good thing. What a nuisance.

I've found its good luck to keep a lady fish, just toss one in the box to please the fish gods. Tell yourself you're keeping em for cut bait or something, but it gets the ball rolling. Kinda like shooting spoonies. You just gotta do it.
Also been catching lots of trout with eggs this week and last.

Trout spawn from spring to early fall.

If you catch an 10" or smaller lady fish, use it as live bait..... trout love them.

That is correct, they spawn from roughly mid to late April (some areas) all the way into the fall.
