Sick to my stomach

I went out in the kayak this evening and hooked what would've been my PB trout...she got caught in the anchor line, then out, then back in, and as I was trying to move her around it again, I realized that my jighead worked its way out of her mouth and into the anchor line! For a split second, she didn't know she was free and I reached down to land her, but she slowly faded away and then bolted!

This was a couple hours ago and I still feel sick. I guess that'll keep me out there trying to get another!

The anchor is going in the trash...stake out pole only from now on!

Try your best not to feel sick..........What a GREAT experience!!!

see it as the warm up to the ACTUAL personal best.......

I would love to have that story

I guess it's equal parts excitement and disappointment.

I have lost a few fish that I can still see swimming off, I try not to think about them and just keep casting. The simple fact is that big trout know how to shake a hook. Loosing fish is part of fishing, its what keeps me mad at the slimy bastards. Still sucks, been there and I feel for you.

sucks dude... I know how you feel, Ive lost several very nice fish at the boat before.

Look on the brightside...if you are a REAL fisherman...the size of that fish, in the stories you will tell, will eventually be much greater than if you boated it and weighed it.;)

Kinda like the 195#(at least!!!) Cobia that I had to cut the leader on because the seas during the advancing hurricane we were fishing in were getting to 35ft (or better) and my girlfriend, at the time,...Morgan Fairchild...yeah that's it....was getting seasick.

See how this will play to your advantage?

That is exactly right, I remember in my younger days a friend of mine lost a nice little Black tip Shark I had hooked up with when he tried to land it for me. It would have been my first Black Tip Shark. It was probably around 3 ft, by the end of the day it was a 14FT!!! Black TIP and if not for HIM, I could show everyone!! LMOA!!

Lost a PB last year and was sick about it but put it aside since it flopped out the net on my son. Didn't want to make him feel bad. But, exactly 7 days later I landed one close to the same size. It will come around.
