Trading In A Boat

Instead of updating my current boat, I think I may just be buying a new one, built like I want. I am curious if anyone has ever traded in a boat or if boat dealers even take in trades these days? I know I would probably get more if I sold it outright but I have very limited free time due to work issues so simply trading it in sounded like a nice alternative.

Some do, some don't.........keep in mind, the taxes..........if they give you 10K for your trade in, that should reduce your sales tax by what ever your parish is...........

at least I think so.
Point is, if you would only make "x" amount more on selling yourself than it may be a negligible amount to do so

I talked with Bent about trading mine in. They take trades but their price was very very low as you would expect.

Also offered consignment for 15% of sale price.

Didn't think about the tax implications. On the price of new bay boats, that could make a all the difference.

My boat was bought used as a dealer trade. The Dealer was Boat Stuff in Slidell.
