Selling your boat advice

Any advice for selling you boat online. Is paying for boat trader worth it? I'm listing it on Craig's and Louisiana Sportsman of course, and going to post on 2Cool and maybe Hull Truth (not sure I want to pay the $15...yes i'm cheap!). Just not sure if there is anywhere else I might be missing.

Posting on southeasttexas.com might reach some people in your area.

Answer your phone. I've been trying to buy a boat for a week and the guy wont call me back.

don't forget to advertise it here as well

I agree, too many places you can advertise for free so don't waste money paying for ads

X2. I posted mine on a few free websites and it was gone in less than 24 hours. Give it a shot and see before spending any money on advertising.

I can almost guarantee you that you will get a lot of action from LA Sportsman. I bought and sold a boat off of there.

Call me, I'll answer if you want to make a serious offer.

once you decide how much money you are willing to loose, post it on Louisiana Sportsman and here.

Have no idea what you are trying to sell Gooh and not a poke at you, but I see WAAAAYYYY to many folks trying to sell thier boats for the payoff when the boat is worth considerably less.

no matter where you post it or list it, if it's not priced right, it ain't selling

A poke don't bother me.

On the other side, there's a lot of broke folks that tire kick and watch barter kings thinking they are gonna catch someone in a bind and steal a boat.

kcinnick 07-15-2015 04:38 PM

Lots of overpriced boats on the market. Guys who bought a new boat, used it a few hours and think it is worth a fortune. I'd rather a boat that was used and maintained than something that sat. If you are looking for a used boat, you will see the same batch over and over with reasonably priced boats moving rather quickly. You can try the trading groups on facebook also, I watch those along with Sportsman and Craigslist. So what ya selling?

There are some very overpriced used boats on the market right now.

kcinnick 07-15-2015 05:56 PM

Yup, I need bigger than an 18... probably skimmed right over it

haoward 07-15-2015 08:36 PM

Louisiana Sportsman, sold my offshore boat less then a week, always set the price higher. Give you room once the buyer counter with new offer

Samarai 07-16-2015 11:26 AM

price it right and it will probably sell. With internet, its so easy to search for what comparable boats are priced at, so do your homework if u are really interested in selling it. Secondly i dont like to give out my phone num. Only email contact until i am comfortable that the requestor is serious do i give out my number to discuss. Otherwise u will get a call at work, in the middle of night, etc.
