Bayou Dularge

Planning a trip to bayou Dularge in the next couple of weeks. I plan on fishing around Jug Lake and Lake Mechant. Any advice on good places in this area to try other than the spots mentioned?

I fished the dams at jug lake years ago with a friend but that was during the winter time. This will be my first time down there during the summer.

What size boat do you have?

The trout will be along the gulf. On the beaches and near shore structure and islands. You gonna be a bit too far north for big catches of trout. May catch a few. But great area for redfishing.

Thanks for the information! I have a 21' Nautic Star and we are going for Reds (wife's choice). I wouldn't mind catching a few specks while I am down there.

Hit the west side of mechant for reds. Also run down to where bayou dularge past grand pass where it makes a hard left and try cross, buckskin, and mudhole bayou. You should not have any problems catching reds there. for specks you will have to run out to raccoon point and the rigs to the west of raccoon point
