Anybody brave the bay in the last week? I'm hoping to head out this weekend, and I'm hoping the water is not as bad as it looks on the satellite. Or at least that the fish are biting despite the bad water. False hope works too, if anybody wants to throw that out there.

Fished Saturday it was horrible.

The water was nice on the West side yesterday around noon but the wind had it muddy a couple hours later. I saw the river is rising fast so that won't help.

When that front hits on Wednesday its going to look like a mudslide.

agreed. On the Brightside salinity is at 3.6 at the point and 4.4 on the west end, so the salinity is high enough. According to the picture, the west side looks ~ok~ lol

Heres a site that I use that has hourly up dates on the river stage. http://wx.hamweather.com/rivers/gauge/BLRL1.html

Ditto!!

Friday, the water @ C.P. State Park was non drinkable, almost thick enough to plow. Sunday night, parts of N.I. got 3" of rain and all of this had to go into the bay.

Now that's funny! With those salinity levels right now I promise you there are specks in the bay.

If there are, I'm not a good enough fisherman to find them. Plenty of reds though.

Go catch them and take pics by the landing so we know you were in the bay. That place is garbage until July 4th. Spend your money and want to catch fish. I would go to Dularge/Cocodrie, Big Lake/Sabine, Leeville/Grand Isle.

Man with all this rain and the forecast for this weekend, no place will be on fire. If you want to get out of the house and wet a line then I say go for it. Just don't have too high of expectations.

apoche 03-04-2015 12:48 PM

Appreciate your help - thanks again
