Blackeye Pea Jambalaya and Cabbage
* Alright this New Year's Day I decided to change things up just a bit. I cooked the usual cabbage but instead of the same 'ol Blackeye Peas and Rice I made a Blackeye Pea Jambalaya that was pretty darn awesome. Started with precooking the blackeyes just barely seasoned in plain water. http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/...3/DSC05729.jpg Then I put together what would normally be jambalaya but added blackeye peas to it. Blk eye pea jambalaya had a name in Cajun which naturally I dont know how to write right. Reo feve?? When times were hard or on fridays it would be heavy with the veggies and no meat. Still one of my favorites is chicken in it. Mores da betta if its left over BBq chicken.
