Lake area fishing legend passed away.
 

I just read on another fishing site that Mr. JD Courtney passed away. He made custom crappie jigging poles and jigs in Westlake. I do not know any details. The man was a wealth of information on fishing and his jigs and poles are the finest I have ever used. He will be missed in the Crappie circle of fishing throughout the state.

That's for sure. One of the best crappie fisherman ever.
